Rennetta Pauline Johnson 87 of Frankfort, IN, passed away at 4:50 p.m. October 3, 2012 at Indiana Veteran’s Home, West Lafayette, IN. Born May 13, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Lewis Edgar & Esther Rob (Holmes) Miller. She married Kenneth Paul Johnson on August 8, 1947 in Chicago, IL and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2005. Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of McKinley High School in Chicago, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Frankfort. A veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, she served from 1945 to 1946. She worked at P.R. Mallory for 14 years, retiring in 1975. Mrs. Johnson formerly attended the First Baptist Church in Frankfort. She was known as a happy lady and loved her grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Pastor Chuck Williams will officiate. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary or Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. Envelopes will be available.

2 Daughters: Patricia D. (Doug) Fuller of Wadsworth, OH and Barbara J. Wells of Fishers, IN 1 Son: Kenneth P. (Debra) Johnson Jr. of Lafayette 2 Brothers: Roy Miller of Cincinnati, OH and Richard Miller of Tacoma, WA 3 Sisters: Leora Villeges, Diana Fox and Esther Swieton all of Las Vegas, NV 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 grandson.

    My sincere condolences to the family. Rennetta was a friend of my mother’s (Ruth C. Davis) and I still remember my mom talking about her friendship with Rennetta. Those two were wonderful ladies and will be missed.

    My condolences to Barb and the family. Mrs. Johnson was like a second mother during our Junior High years. I always remember her to be a lovely lady. Barb, if you get this I would love to see you after all these years. I live in Noblesville and work at Conner Prairie – so we must be close to each other.
