Raymond E. Bartley

Raymond E. Bartley 81, of Frankfort, IN, died at 8:50 a.m. on August 17, 2010 at Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. Born April 8, 1929 in Lafayette, IN to the late Jack & Lola (Wax) Bartley. He married Blanche Taylor on May 16, 1952 in Lafayette, IN and she preceded him in death on May 8, 2009. Mr. Bartley attended Woodside School in Frankfort and Washington Township Schools in Boone County and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. He retired in 1991 from Tipton Steel Parts after 33 years. He also worked in the yard at Nickel Plate Railroad. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Alaska during the Korean War for 3 years. Mr. Bartley was a lifetime member of the VFW, as well as the Eagles Lodge, where he was also past president and a former member of the American Legion. He loved to hunt & fish and for over 20 years, he and Mrs. Bartley ran the Kiddy Bar at the Eagles Lodge.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19th from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home with an Eagles Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. Burial with military rites will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Clinton County Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 103, Frankfort, IN 46041. Envelopes will be available.

1 Daughter: Donna (Jerry) Bray of Lafayette 1 Brother: William Denton (Rita) Bartley of Tipton 2 Sisters in Law: Alice Felty and June Taylor 2 Grandchildren: J.R. (Amy) Bray and Lisa (John) Bowen 7 Great Grandchildren: Jerri and Brady Ottinger, Brody, Brant and Josh Bowen, Austin and Hunter Bray 1 Great Great Grandson, Joseph Bowen He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Bray, parents, 2 brothers, Lawrence and Fred Bartley and 2 sisters, Katherine Sallee and Viola Emery.
