Perry Warner Lewis 90, of Frankfort, IN, passed away at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital following an extended illness. Born September 13, 1921 in Marshall, IL to the late Perry S. & Esther B. (Warner) Lewis. He married Elsie Ann Barry in Philadelphia, PA on December 18, 1948 and she survives. Mr. Lewis was a 1939 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, a 1939 graduate of Culver Summer School and a 1943 graduate of Wabash College, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He enlisted in the U S Army in 1943 and served in Hawaii as a supply officer for arms and supplies going to the South Pacific. He attained the rank of Lieutenant during his faithful service to our country during WWII. He had lived in Crawfordsville, IN and moved to Frankfort in 1956 when he purchased the Ford automobile dealership from Doug Scheid. Until he retired in the late 1990’s Perry was the owner operator of Lewis Ford Sales in Frankfort and was very active in the Automobile Dealers Association of Indiana. A member of the First Christian Church, he was past elder and past chairman of the board, a member of the Frankfort Rotary, was very active in the program to eradicate polio and was a Paul Harris Fellow, member of Symposiarchs where he was twice named Symposiarch of the year, was Past President of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, longtime board member of Citizen’s Savings Bank and was an eagle scout. An avid golfer and longtime member of the Frankfort Country Club he was instrumental in the golf course expanding from 9 to 18 holes in the 1960’s.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1p.m.until the time of service at the funeral home. Family Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be directed to the First Christian Church, Alzheimer’s Association, The Frankfort Rotary Club (For the Eradication of Polio) or charity of choice

He was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy Jane Lewis in 1954, son, Perry W. “Bill” Lewis on June 16, 1996, 2 brothers, John Lewis and Gene Lewis and sister, Anne Stoll
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Perry, he was a good friend and will be missed by many.

I am so sorry for your loss. Ed and Louise Randak are my in-laws and I have notified them of Mr. Lewis’ death. Louise sends her deepest sympathies to you all.
