Peggy Joan Beals, 89, died October 1, 2024 at the home of her daughter in Lake Wales, FL.  She was born June 16, 1935 in Cutler, Indiana to Herbert & Lelah (Watkins) Everett.  She married James W. Beals on May 31, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2013.

Peggy lived in Frankfort for 60 years and then was a Lake Wales snowbird from 1991-2018.  She was a self-employed Grain Inspector for 40 years, retiring in 1991. Peggy enjoyed puzzles, paint by numbers, golfing and her dog, Molly.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Survived by:

Daughters: Dee (Bryan) McKinney of Lake Wales, FL, Denise (Steve) Romack of Martinsville, Cindy (Scott) Nichols of rural Frankfort, Sons: Brian (Cindy) Beals of rural Frankfort, John Beals of rural Frankfort, 14 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

    As cousins, my parents Steve and Ruth Cox and sister Kim Cox enjoyed the friendship and good times that they shared with Jim and ‘Peg’ and family.
