Paul Barnett Jr. 90, of rural Kirklin, died May 31, 2014 at Eskenazi Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind. Born February 29, 1924 in Boone County to the late Paul & Mayme (Morton) Barnett Sr. He married Belva Jane Spray on June 17, 1944 in Kirklin and she survives. Mr. Barnett grew up in Clinton County, was a 1943 graduate of Kirklin Schools, moving to Boone County in 1956. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served from Sept. 2, 1944 to March 4, 1946. Mr. Barnett farmed for 42 years, farming in Clinton and Boone Counties. He was a member of Scotland Christian Church, a 50 year member of Pickard Masonic Lodge and the Kirklin American Legion.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, June 5th at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Scotland Christian Church, American Heart Assoc., Boone County Cancer Fund.

Wife: Belva Jane Barnett of rural Kirklin, 2 Sons: James Lee (Karen) Barnett of Mechanicsburg, Jerry L. (Linda) Barnett of rural Kirklin, 1 Brother: Richard K. (Patty) Barnett of rural Sheridan, 2 Grandsons: Jeffrey L. (Denae) Barnett of Zionsville, Jason C. (Jodi) Barnett of Lebanon, 6 Great Grandsons, Tyler, Bryce, Ryan, Wyatt, Ethan and Colton.

Preceded by:

a sister, Mary Catherine Amos and a brother Harry W. Barnett.

    So sorry for your loss. Let me know if there is anything I can do for anybody. I recently lost my mom, I’ve also lost my dad and oldest sister, so I have an idea how difficult this is. Again, I am sorry.

    I’m sorry for your loss. Junior was always a fun person to be around when he came in to my dad’s Shell station in Kirklin. You have my deepest sympathy.
