Patsy A. Avery, 90, a longtime resident of Michigantown, Ind., passed away on October 5, 2022 at Wesley Manor Retirement Community.  She was born on July 8, 1932 in Michigantown to Edgar V. and Rebecca Ruth (Weaver) Fields.  She married David L. Avery on July 13, 1948 and he survives.

Patsy attended Michigantown High School.  She was a farm wife and had worked as a cook at Michigantown Elementary School for seven years.  She enjoyed gardening and sold sweet corn for 30 years.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

The Avery family would like to give special thanks to the Wesley Manor ground floor nurses: Danielle, Carrie, and Katrina.  Also, special thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice, Visiting Angels, and Robin and Joni for all the love, care, and compassion shown to our mother.

Memorial donations may be made to Michigantown Community Center or Guardian Angel Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Visitation and Services

A Funeral Service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort.  Friends may visit 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown.

(Dennis) Brown of Flora; Sisters: Barbara Catron of Frankfort, Norma Hillis of Michigantown, and Carolyn McQuinn (Mack Trenary) of Forest; Brother: Sam (Carolyn) Fields of Michigantown; Sister-in-law: Linda Fields Catron of Howard County; Brother-in-law: Bob Swem of Forest; 8 Grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
