Patricia A. Leininger Nelson, 92, of Frankfort, passed away on December 1, 2020 at I.U. Health Arnett, Lafayette, following a very brief illness. She was born July 24, 1928 in Hoopston, Illinois to Earel George and Ethel Madge (Reagan) Leininger. She married Paul ‘AP’ Nelson on September 24, 1961 and he preceded her in death on April 30, 2020.
Pat graduated from Frankfort High School in 1947. She was employed by People’s Life Insurance Company prior to working at her parents’ restaurant, Madge’s Café. Special thanks will always go to Merle and Truman Smith for setting Pat up on a blind date with Paul, because following their wedding she became a wonderful career mother and homemaker. Pat was an extremely quiet woman but very strong in her Christian faith. She was a long-time attendee of Oakland Christian Church and Antioch Church and participated in the Alpha and Omega Bible Study for over 50 years. She was an avid reader as well and thoroughly enjoyed both crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Another past time she enjoyed for many years was to sit with her mother, friends and family sharing stories and laughter on the front porch.
Visitation and Services
A private family gathering will be held where Thanksgiving to God, love and laughter will be shared. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Antioch Church Building Fund, 4625 S St. Rd. 39, Frankfort, IN 46041.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI was the driver who met you, John, when I drove your father from Mulberry to Wesley Manor in 2019. I was delighted to talk with AP about his love for horses as he shared memories during the transport. Earlier this year I had the honor of getting to know your mother. My husband and I would deliver meals to her weekly. I loved visiting Patricia during these times! She was very steadfast in her faith and love for Jesus and also enjoyed sharing her love for family and friends! Patricia, a beautiful and kind woman who is now so happy being with her Lord and Savior whom she longed to be with! What blessed memories you, her family and friends, must have and hold dear in your hearts! Sending our warmest of thoughts ~ Larry and Susan Gates

Facebook Twitter GooglePam and John,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. It has been a tough year losing both of your parents. You parents was a fine example of true love between them. Every time I would see them they were always holding hands or your dad would be opening the door for your mom. He is waiting for her at the Heavenly gates to open them for her. You was truly blessed with wonderful parents. Prayers to you all during this difficult time.

Facebook Twitter GoogleSorry for your loss. I enjoyed the few visits I had with John at his parents place, Pat and Paul were so welcoming and genuine. The love and support they had for John and Pam and families was so evident. Their faith and loyalty to God and family was also obvious. John had only good things to say about his parents, such a testament to those who were fortunate to know the family. Over 50 years in a bible study, that’s amazing faith and steadfastness that is quite rare. She’s surely touched many lives with her love and care for people.
