Nancy Lee Hobaugh

Nancy Lee Hobaugh, 85, of Michigantown, Ind., died April 26, 2021 in her home.  She was born on February 22, 1936 in Lebanon, to Leonard and Esther (Fulton) Shaffer.

She was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School.  As a member of Indiana Rural Youth, she served as Boone County’s secretary from 1955 – 1960 and in 1960 – 1961 was the State Secretary.  Nancy married John Edward Hobaugh on August 19, 1961.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  A homemaker, she especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandson.

Memorial Donations may be made in Nancy’s honor to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 St. Mary’s Avenue, Frankfort, IN  46041.

Visitation and Services

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort.  Friends may visit 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the funeral home. Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving along with her Husband:  John Edward Hobaugh of Michigantown are her Children: Michael (Karla) Hobaugh of Brownsville, TX, Carla Smith of Kokomo, Matthew Hobaugh of Michigantown, Merrill Hobaugh of West Lafayette, and Christi Hobaugh of Virginia Beach, VA; Grandson: Edward Joel Hobaugh of Brownsville, TX; Siblings: Jerry Shaffer of Thorntown, Dennis Shaffer of Thorntown, and Karen Nelson of Lebanon; Sisters-In-Law: Mary Hobaugh of Lafayette and Becky Hobaugh of West Lafayette, Brother-In-Law: Jay Hobaugh of West Lafayette as well as many Nieces and Nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law: Chris Smith, brother: Victor Shaffer, sister-in-law: Carol Hobaugh, and brothers-in-law: James M. Hobaugh and Jerome D. Hobaugh.
