Michelle L. (Kelley) Martin 47 of Frankfort, IN, died at 12:12 p.m. June 24, 2011 at her home following an extended illness. Born January 3, 1964 in Frankfort, IN, to the late Wayne & Waverly (Harlan) Kelley. Her first marriage was to Brett Leach, she then married Tony E. Martin on January 24, 1992 in Frankfort and he survives. Mrs. Martin was a 1982 graduate of Clinton Central High School and then attended Indiana State in Terre Haute. She was previously employed by Man Power and then worked at Kelly Services in Indianapolis. A longtime Clinton County resident, she lived in San Diego California for 2 years. Michelle was a member of the Frankfort Family Ministries, loved to sing and loved theater.

Visitation and Services

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, June 27th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Koman for the Cure, Indianapolis Affiliate, P.O. Box 6069, Dept. 95., Indianapolis, IN 46206-6069.

(Lisa) Martin Jr. of Frankfort Sister:  Laurie (Husband-Al) Letsch of St. George, UT Brother:  Doug Leazenby of Indianapolis 4 Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and daughter Murphy Elise Kelley-Leach.

    What an awesome woman! Her smiles, humor, and the sound of her singing will never be forgotten! Singing with her in the high school Choralaires and reconnecting through Alex’s school activities, and church was such a blessing. May God bless you with memories of others over the upcoming days. Praying for your family.

    I am sorry to say I didn’t know Michelle, but if she had a heart like her Sister Laura she must have been a wonderful person. My thoughts and prayers for support to each family member that will have missing from their life this amazing love of Michelle. May you all hold fast to her love, memories and they bring comfort and may the Comforter bring His Love to each of you now and in the days to come.

    I am so very sorry for your loss. Michelle and I were co-workers at Manpower. We actually shared office space so I had the pleasure of interacting with her often. During those years, we shared lots of good times. When I think of Manpower, I think of Michelle. Thank you Alex, for sharing the CD your mom made. She was sure blessed with an incredible talent. What an amazing woman. I feel very honored that I got to know such a neat lady.

    I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom put up a hard fight. Though I did not know her well, I know that she raised a tremendous young lady who will go far in this world. My prayers are with you all.

    So sorry for you loss. Michelle was an amazing soul! Always so happy! You never caught her without a smile! I’ll never forget all of the sleep-overs with Misty & Leah on John street! She’s flying high with Grandma Martin now and watching over everyone! Thinking about you all during this difficult time! XoXo

    I was Michelle’s band mate in an all girls 80’s band called the KOEDS. We were all Indiana State University students and had the great idea of having a band like the Go Go’s. Michelle was the lead singer and knew how to belt out a Jon Jett song and entertain an audience. Michelle was also my “suite” mate. There were five of us in the suite and we had to learn to live together in a tight space. Michelle was always the kind of person you always wanted on your side if an argument came up. To her children, I think Michelle would say be yourself, change the world but don’t let the world change you. I will always remember Michelle as a strong-willed independent woman. The kind of woman you would want on your side.
