Facebook Twitter GoogleDear friend, Diana. I know how close you and Bud always were. He was a big part of your life, and I know how much he will be missed by you and all who knew him. Bud had so many good attributes that it is difficult to name them all. But a couple of biggies are his love of laughter and his love of family. You were a part of him in both those categories. Your faith and his faith will bring you together in that ever after. Love to you, dear friend. Binnie

Facebook Twitter GoogleI am so sorry to hear that Mr. Wainscott has passed away. He was my 7th grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary School in Frankfort in 1958, his first year out of college. His class was always engaging and interesting. In the summers one could always see him on the tennis courts helping anyone who needed to up their tennis game a little.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI remember Bud as an outstanding Christian and terrific guy from the 1st Baptist church in Frankfort, IN. In fact, the whole Wainscott family was great. He taught me how to play tennis and was an inspiration to me as a Christian. It was an honor to know Bud, and he will be missed. Prayers to his family at this time of loss.

Facebook Twitter GoogleIn memory of Bud,
I think my best decision in life was when I wandered over to the TPA Park tennis courts at six years old. I have seen many tennis programs at various levels in multiple states (including CA) and now know I was so lucky to be a part of Bud’s park program. Besides being a great player himself he was fair and always kept temper tantrums at bay. I had all the opportunities by being part of his program as those kids had from larger cities. What a wonderful personality he had. He called me “little Janie”. A true inspiration he was. I also had the opportunity to be around Bud at the First Baptist Church. His faith was apparent on the tennis court. He also worked hard painting the courts after they had been repaved. I saw him sweat, sing, hum, whistle and give thanks to the Lord all on the tennis court. He has always had a special place in my heart and always will. I knew his sister, Virginia ( thru my Mom) and Diana (watching her kids in tennis) and Dee Dee (his niece) in high school sports. Know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Bud. Thank you.

Facebook Twitter GooglePhyllis, I was taken back when I received the notice that Coach had passed. He was my teacher and basketball coach at Lincoln Elementary in 1957; Lincoln won the city championship that year! I always looked up to Coach Wainscott. He was cool, calm, collected and everyone enjoyed being around him. It has been several years since Mindy and I visited the two of you while in San Antoino; I have never fogotten how excited I was to see Coach again and to meet you.
He truly was a positive influence in my life. We extend our thoughts, prayers and condolences to you and the entire family.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI am grateful to have had the honor of knowing Bud Wainscott. Four decades after playing for him on the FHS tennis team, Bud’s remarkable kindness, smile, and patience remain the standard for me to follow in my own career as an educator. He was genuinely one-of-a-kind and everyone who interacted with him is better because we had that privilege.
RIP and joy, Coach Wainscott

Facebook Twitter GoogleMr. Wainscott taught Ken & Ron Kellams the game of tennis. What a “joy” it was to be one of his students at TPA park. What I admired most about Bud was that instead of focusing on my many faults, he would seek out what ever virtues that I might possess. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you all.
