Melva Anderson 73, longtime Kirklin resident, passed away at 5:37 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. Born November 1, 1940 in Clinton County, Ind. to the late Herman & Mary (Ridge) Pickard. She married Ralph M. Anderson on January 10, 1957 and he preceded her in death on August 6, 2002. Mrs. Anderson attended Sugar Creek School & Kirklin Schools. She grew up in Pickard, before moving to Kirklin as an adult. She was a receiving clerk, working for Marsh for 8 years, retiring in the fall of 1998. Melva was a member of the Faith Family Church, Kirklin Little League Team Mother, was in choir and bells at the Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Family services will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Family Church, 508 W. Green St., Frankfort.

Son: Steve (Joni) Anderson of Frankfort, Daughter: Donna McGee of Frankfort, 3 Brothers: Robert Pickard of Evansville, Jerry Pickard of Kirklin, David Pickard of Nevada, 6 Grandchildren, Brant Janner of Kokomo, Kelsy Tapp of Noblesville, Whitney Anderson of Lafayette, Graham Anderson of Frankfort, Adam Wallace of Frankfort and Luke Wallace of Kirklin, 3 Great Grandchildren, Karlee Janner, Caleb Janner and Silas Tapp.
