Melba C. Catron 87, of Clinton County, Indiana, passed away at 1:34 a.m. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort. She was born on July 5, 1928 in Carroll County, IN to George & Lorena (Calton) McIlrath. Her marriage was to Max E. Catron on August 7, 1947. They were married in the Rose of Sharon Parsonage, north of Burlington, IN. Melba was a 1946 graduate of Burlington High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Christian Church. Melba enjoyed decorating wedding and graduation cakes for family and friends.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 20th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Middlefork Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Oakland Christian Church, 2005 S CR 1280 W, Russiaville, IN 46979.

Husband: Max E. Catron, Son: Mike (Wife-Charlyn) Catron of Rural Frankfort, Daughter: Linda Uitts of Frankfort, 2 Brothers: Meredith (Wife-Janet) McIlrath of Flora, Doyal (Wife-Evelyn) McIlrath of Burlington, Sister: Wilma Brubaker of Burlington, 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren also survive.
Preceded by:
a son, Mark Catron in 2008; 2 brothers, Dewey and Tom McIlrath and 2 sisters, Jane Heaton and Pat Jones.
I’m so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for all Melba’s family and friends who will now grieve the loss of someone dear. My favorite memory of Melba is the cake that she made for Greg and I’s wedding. It was beautiful! I was so happy to have had her make it. She did a wonderful job!
