Maurice William “Bill” Mayer, 73, of Frankfort, died at 2:24 p.m. September 29, 2018 at Franciscan Health, Lafayette, Ind. Born January 11, 1945 in Detroit, MI. He married Linda Myers Hunsberger on February 4, 2000 and she survives.
Bill was a 1963 graduate of Westville, Ind. High School. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from 1968-1972. Bill lived in Wichita, KS, Laporte, Ind., and New Buffalo, Michigan, before moving to Frankfort in 1978. He started working for Indiana Bell and retired from AT&T after 42 years of service. Bill formerly attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frankfort, was a member of Pioneer Telephone Group and Frankfort Optimist Club.
Visitation and Services
Family graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, Romney, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice

Wife: Linda Myers Hunsberger of Frankfort, 3 Sons: James Ward Mayer of Virginia Beach, VA, John Brian (Karen) Mayer of Virginia Beach, VA, Matt (Kendra) Karner of Carmel, IN, Daughter: Jennifer Lyn Mayer of Terre Haute, IN, Sister: Corrine Orzech of Michigan City, IN, and 11 Grandchildren.
