Marvin J. “Nick” Nickols 84 of Frankfort, died at 9:23 p.m. May 25, 2012 at Wesley Manor, where he had lived since January 2012. Born November 2, 1927 in Frankfort, IN to Marvin E. & Pauline G. (Finley) Nickols. He married Marcella “Marty” Jines on November 4, 1950 in Indianapolis and she survives and they had just renewed their marriage vows after 61 ½ years of marriage. Mr. Nickols was a 1946 graduate of Frankfort High School and a lifelong Frankfort resident. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during WWII and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He retired in 1986 after 32 years with the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He retired as a Sergeant with the Railway Police Department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #7 for 48 consecutive years and the American Legion for 58 consecutive years. Mr. Nickols enjoyed golfing, photography, yard work, taking care of birds and his family and friends.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Clinton County Mausoleum at Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society or Clinton County Cancer Fund.

I am saddened by the news of Uncle Nick’s passing. I have such fond memories of him as a little girl. He was always smiling and funny. He was genuinely a kind loving person. I hope your memories will help you through this difficult time. You are in my prayers.
