Martin J. “Marty” Lester, 57, of Frankfort, died June 11, 2024 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Ind.  He was born January 9, 1967 in Kalamazoo, MI to Bobbie Joe & Carol (Trent) Lester.  He married Mary E. Schiery on August 21, 1987 in Frankfort and she survives.

Marty grew up in on Magnolia Ave. and lived most of his life in Clinton County.  He was a driver for Goubeaux Trucking Ltd.  He was formerly owner/operator of Marty’s Diner on Barner Street and was known for his giant tenderloins and cinnamon rolls.  Marty was of the Christian Faith and he loved his Black Labrador, Mylee.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Jerry Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.

Wife: Mary Lester of Frankfort, Daughters: Marissa Banks of Frankfort, Maranda (Allen) Lowery of Stockwell, Sons: Michael (Alex) Lester of Frankfort, Mason (Mariah) Lester of Rossville, 7 Grandchildren: Zakary, Makenzie, Hayden, Memphis, Maveryck, Masea and Jenna

    I am so sorry you have to go through this. There’s nothing worse than the lose of your best friend and life partner. I have lived through it and it nevers gets easier!!!
