Facebook Twitter GoogleMartha, I remember the time you were at the post office and didn’t have enough change as you had walked from Caddell’s, and I gave you the very small amount needed and told you to forget it. But during your evening walk, there you were knocking at my door to repay me the tiny amount. I enjoyed you so much, your friendliness and smile. Blessings, to your family in their sorrow, and am so grateful they had you so many years.

We were sadden to learn of your mother’s passing. Martha held a special place in our hearts not just because she was family but because of the special person that she was. Our favorite memory is when we took her and Sally Schertzer to Seymour for Kara’s wedding. We had such a wonderful time and had so may laughs that weekend. Martha was so kind to us after Sandy’s father passed away and her mother resided in the nursing home. She was always wanting us to spend the night with her so we would not travel back home late at night. We know that she is now one of God’s special angels and will be looking down and keeping an eye on you and your families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time and beyond.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI know that my family and grandmother (Ruth Chappell) will greatly miss our favorite neighbor and good friend. Personally, I will keep close to my heart all of the love she gave me while growing-up and being like a second grandmother to me! Some of my favorite memories: Going to visit her at Caddells, skipping Sunday School and meeting her & the girls at Jim Dandy, waving to her from my house or neighbors as she walked by on her daily walks in the summer, and getting hugs on Sunday. I will miss her!
