Marjorie L. (Myers) Pridemore

May 26, 2020

Marjorie L. (Myers) Pridemore, 76, of Lafayette, Ind., was carried home by angels on May 26, 2020.  She was born October 9, 1943 in Frankfort, Ind. to the late Harold Wayne & Marjorie Juanita (Mullendore) Myers.

Raised in Frankfort, Marjorie enjoyed the pleasures of small-town living.  In her teens she was selected to portray Margaret O’Brien at the premiere of Glory at the Roxy Theatre.  She rode around the square in a Cadillac convertible and was presented roses and a key to the city by Frankfort’s mayor.  It was one of the highlights of her young life.

Marjorie was a 1961 graduate of Frankfort High School and remained in the area until 1969 when she moved to southern California, returning to Lafayette in 1995.  She was an outstanding paralegal and real estate broker, working from multiple firms in Indiana and California from 1961-1995.  Marjorie, a loving mother, grandmother and sweet sister, was devoted to her family and will always be known by them as “Number 1”.

My condolences to the Myers family. I’m Juanita and Ray Adkins daughter. Shortly after my dad’s death, I was invited to a public auction of my parents’ items. I received a box full of SUPPOSEDLY family photos, but most of them weren’t of my ACTUAL family, but of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc of Ray’s. I, along with my brother Don, were adopted after these relatives passed away and so these pictures didn’t rightfully belong to me and so took to first family reunion after Dad died and so told his siblings and cousins to take whatever pictures they wanted as felt they REALLY belonged to them. I had some left and somehow found out that Marjorie lived in Lafayette where I lived and so made arrangements to take to her and see if perhaps Harold would want. She couldn’t have been any sweeter or gracious and said yes her dad would like them. That made me feel good that they would go to someone in family to treasure and possibly know some of the people in the pictures. Again, I’m sorry to hear of her passing. I’m sure she left many with fond memories of her. Take care.

Dearest Margie, one of my oldest and fun loving friends. We had some great times, especially late night Backgammon laughing and reminiscing about our wild trips to Manhattan Beach to see Lee and Dave. My heart will miss you, dear friend; but I am so very grateful knowing we will meet again in Heaven. Love to Brian and to your wonderful family who took such loving care of you in your time of need.

My condolence to the dear Myers family. You are all like family to me, as your Mom is a Sister to my Stepfather. I knew Marge better than the others as we are the same age. I don’t see you as much as I would like, as we all go our separate ways with marriage, etc., but when we get together for reunions, we always have a fun time, and Marge was especially happy to see me. You are a wonderful, very close and loving family, and I know Marge will be dearly missed, as are your parents. May God watch over you and help you through this very difficult time. I will be with you Friday. Love to you all,
