Lynda Jean Coop

Lynda Jean Coop, 74, of Frankfort, died on Friday, August 30, 2019 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  She was born on October 20, 1944 in New York City to Michael & Mary (Yost) Hunter.  She married Bill Fred Coop on September 21, 1985 and he survives.  Lynda was a Registered Nurse working for 23 years at the Clinton County Hospital in Frankfort.  She also worked as a school nurse for the Community Schools of Frankfort and most recently for Guardian Angel Hospice until her retirement in 2007.  She lived in the New York City and Boston areas before coming to Frankfort in 1977.  She graduated from high school in 1962 in Dracut, MA and received her nursing degree from Indiana University in Kokomo in 1998.  Lynda was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Visitation and Services

Private family services will be held at Green Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, Gideon's International, Clinton County Cancer or Donor’s Choice of Charity.

Husband: Bill Coop of Frankfort, 2 Daughters: Karen Gandy of Ft. Wayne and Christine (Husband-Jonathan) Perkins of Fishers, IN, 1 Son: Paul (Fiance-Breonna Minear) Gandy of Wisconsin, 5 Grandchildren: Josie (Husband-Nicholas) Slaughter and Kaylin (Husband-Andrew) Schutz and Zachary Perkins. 2 Great Grandchildren Grant & Lillie Slaughter

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Hunter, granddaughter Emily.

    Lynda was such a wonderful, caring person. She loved her children and grandchildren so much. She was such a wonderful grandmother. Her memory will move on through her beautiful daughters and son. My deepest sympathy to her husband Bill and family. She will be missed

    Lynda was an amazing lady. She was always kind to me and helpful. She was a wonderful Christian example. She seemed to be positive no matter what was going on. I will miss her very much. I wish I had met her much earlier in life. See you in heaven Lynda.

    I loved working with this sweet calm soul…she was very influential in what I strived to be as a nurse..I loved her and am so very blessed to have known her and learned from her. Bill I know how hard it is when your sweetheart goes to heaven first hand..I will be praying for you to feel her and God’s love all around you!!

    I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Lynda for many years at Clinton County Hospital. I remember how happy she was when she could retire and enjoy time with her family. God Bless!
