Debbie and family…. You may not fully remember me but I remember you gals well. My heart broke when I heard the news about Linsey. I am so sorry for your loss. I especially know Sam and Stephanie’s pain. I know that it hurts like crazy and even after it’s all said and done there are a million questions that you want answers too. The pain never fully goes away but in time it just becomes a part of you. I pray that you all find comfort during this time and remember all the good memories of Linsey. It seems she grew into quite an amazing young woman. Please know that you are heavy on the hearts and minds of a lot of people and you are not alone. May God keep you and comfort you….

  12. Brittany Robertson January 21, 2012 at 3:08 pm

I’m still in disbelief. My heart goes out to Debbie, Sam, and Kyle, and the rest of Linsey’s friends and family. Linsey was such a beautiful person….when I think about her, I see her bright smile and immediately hear her contagious laugh! Now that I’ve lost a childhood friend, I can see how completely short life really is. I love you all, and I am praying constantly for you.

  13. Kasey Hyneman January 21, 2012 at 3:09 pm

I had the honor of teaching with Linsey last semester at Cowan. I can still see her speaking softly and sweetly to the students that were having a bad day. She always made time to really listen to the children. It was her special gift. Her kindness and calmness with the students was an inspiration. It was a true blessing to spend those days with her. She was a soft spoken angel that will be greatly missed.

Debbie, Samantha and family – Thinking of you during this difficult time – As we look back when Sam and Linsey came over to play on Main Street we seen a beautiful little blonde that always was so quiet but yet always had that beautiful smile. Today as we look on facebook at all the pictures you still see that beautiful little blonde that is smiling in every picture surrounded by so many friends. As the days ahead come before you and the burden is too much just take a moment and look back at those happy smiles, her great accomplishments and how many lives she touched and this will bring a smile to your face. May God be with you throughout this and give you the strength you need. If there is anything at all that we can do please let us know.

Dear Family- All those that know and love Linsey are mourning this tragic loss here on earth and all of the lives Linsey would have touched through her future as a teacher. As Colton says in Heaven is for Real, Jesus REALLY, REALLY loves the children. I believe that God has taken the best, because he loves the children. Linsey now has the biggest angel wings ever and she is loving and teaching the children with Jesus in heaven. As strongly as my heart firmly believes this, I mourn your loss with you. You gave her the gift of life, and to know and love Linsey is a gift in itself. We were very, very fortunate to have had Linsey serving families and children with her love at the Child Study Center.

My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Linsey’s friends and family. I was in many education courses with Linsey. Her and I were partners in our immersion reading program as well. She was truly a blessing in my life. Her kind and loving demeanor will forever be etched in my mind. Her love for children and education inspired me to do my best and become a better teacher. Linsey impacted this world and it is so hard to believe her life was cut so short. Once again, please know there are many prayers coming to the Hardebeck family. May you know that God is forever with each of you.

Debby, Sam, and the Hardeback and Stuard families…My mind hearkens back to you, Debbie, attending FHS parent conferences. And after meeting you for the first time, I realized why Linsey and Sam were fun and respectful students. And after learning that Linsey and Kyle were seeing each other, I realized that this, too, was a perfect fit. Linsey was an angel on earth and is now one in Heaven. Peace and Love to all of you and to Linsey’s many friends.

Linsey taught in my kindergarten classroom at Cowan this fall. She clearly had a gift and a passion for working with children. She was drawn to the children that needed the most kindness and patience…and they were drawn to her. She made a difference in those brief moments she spent with the children in my classroom. My thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones.

  30. tammy farless ooley January 22, 2012 at 7:41 pm

    My dearest Debbie and family,
i pray God gives you the strength through this terrible time right now. My mind cannot even grasp what you are going through, and my heart aches. I love you always and I am sure the school in heaven has the best teacher they have ever seen.

  31. Brittney Marciniak January 22, 2012 at 7:46 pm

I too, had the honor of knowing Linsey through all of the ELED classes we had together. She was such an amazing person to be around and I am beyond grateful I was given the opportunity to become friends with her. Linsey was so great with the students she had and it definitely showed when each and every one of them were excited to see her as soon as she entered the room. Linsey has inspired me in so many ways in becoming a teacher that I could never thank her enough. I am going to miss running into her on the weekends as well as in class! I will definitely NEVER forget her. My condolences are with her family and boyfriend at this horrible time

  32. Scott Popplewell January 22, 2012 at 8:49 pm

Humble. Conscientious. Caring. These are three words that come to my mind when I think about Linsey. I am a professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Ball State, and I had Linsey for two courses. I first met Linsey in a literacy course, and I was most impressed with her being conscientious and curious. During the next semester, I had the opportunity to teach a special section of a literacy course, and I was able to select 10 students for the course. Linsey was one of my first choices. I enjoyed working with her, especially when we went into the community and worked in a high poverty area. Her work was so exemplary, and she really cared about the community and the children. I have been on faculty at Ball State for 16 years, and I can honestly say that Linsey was one of my “top choices” of students. Take care, Linsey. I will miss seeing your smiling face, and I’ll always remember your positive attitude and smile your brought to each class. Thanks for making my tenure at BSU so positive. You are the reason I continue to love my job. See ya.

  33. Christine Pinkerton January 22, 2012 at 8:49 pm

Linsey was an amazing and beautiful young women. I had the pleasure of working with her at the Child Study Center during my time at Ball State. She was so full of life and had a genuine love for children. She would have made an amazing teacher. My heart broke when I heard the news. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers as well as in those of my students and their families. In the words of one of my parents, “God needed a special angel-to watch over her friends and family.”

  34. Margaret Brown January 22, 2012 at 11:18 pm

I only got to meet Linsey once in her short life. I wish I would have had the opportunity to get to know her better. I know she was an amazing person and was a joy to all who knew her. All my condolences go out to my Aunt Debbie and the rest of the family in this time of tragidy.

  35. Nan Miller January 23, 2012 at 12:49 am

My children and I mourn the loss of such a wonderful young woman. Linsey will always hold a special place in my heart. When my youngest son started daycare at the BSU CSC he screamed everyday I left for class. Linsey took him screaming everyday for the year. Over time she became the only one he would go to. Linsey was such a caring, compassionate and loving young woman. She brought joy and comfort to many children’s lives and I know she will be deeply missed. Her smile could light up a room and bring a joy to your heart even on a bad day. She will always remain etched in my memory as “Miss Linsey.”

  36. Cheryl Ibarra January 23, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Debbie, time fly’s and life whisks you away, with that I wish I could have had a chance to get to know my sister & her children! Linsey was a beautiful girl inside and out – I have watched her grow up in pictures and regret not being able to watch her grow up in person! There are no words that can help ease the sorrow that you and your family are feeling right now nor can they ease the overwhelming grief but if they can bring you just a touch of peace that is what I can hope for. God only takes the best home with him to help shepherd his flock and Linsey was the best of the best! I know she is happy and at peace in heaven beside God, mom, Lyle, dad, and the rest of the family that was standing at the gates waiting to welcome her home with open arms. Take solace in the knowledge that Linsey is in heaven looking down sharing your joys and triumphs and holding you through your darkest hours. There are always angels among us doing their jobs and when they are finished they are rewarded by God calling them home. Linsey was a walking angel among us and God rewarded her by calling her home to be with him. I love you my sister! Please remember that and do not hesitate to call me if you need to cry, vent or just have open air!
All my love to you & your family,
    Cheryl

Linsey and I were not best friends, but when i heard the news my heart just stopped. I pray for everyone, your family, Kyle and his family, friends, and her graduating class of 2008 through this hard time. I remember her smile and her laugh. Her positive and fun personality, along with her smile and laugh are what I remember most. I am sorry for your loss and pray for you and your family.

  39. Jaime Kelly January 24, 2012 at 10:14 pm

I had the pleasure of doing Linsey and her families hair for a few years and working with her at the salon. I will miss our bizarre salon convos, Monday night pepes meals after work and great times at Megan’s! I will always love and remember you my dear friend. Debbie and Samantha I am so sorry for your loss and sorry I could not make it in person. My deepest sympathies.

  40. Michelle Roberts-Schneider January 25, 2012 at 9:50 am

I did not know Linsey; however, I shared the same love and joy working with young children, and it sounds like she was well on her way to doing great things with those she would come to know. My heart breaks for her family, and I pray that peaceful times lie ahead for all.

  41. Emily Roth (Cliver) January 25, 2012 at 11:38 am

Linsey was such a beautiful, positive, and loving young woman. I was honored to work with her and learn from her during my graduate assistantship at the Child Study Center. There was not a day that I didn’t go into my classroom or the center when I didn’t see her smile or feel her enthusiasm with our children. I always valued and looked forward to having her come into my classroom to participate and play with the children, and could always count on her, no matter the situation. There are no words to express the loss felt, but knowing that she touched so many lives, young and old, is truly beautiful and life changing for everyone who was blessed to know her. May God Bless your family everyday, and the wonderful beautiful memories surround all of you during this difficult time. She truly did impact everyone who was privileged to know her, and I am thankful and grateful that God allowed me to know her and learn from her. I am so sorry for your loss and feel honored to have known this amazing individual.
