Linda Lou Schimmel 78, of Frankfort, Ind., died at 10:50 p.m. November 30, 2016 at Mulberry Health & Retirement Community. Born March 16, 1938 in Kentucky to Buley & Doris (Emberton) Bartley. She married James F. Schimmel on October 2, 1954 in Frankfort and he survives. Linda attended Forest School. She was a homemaker and also worked at several restaurants, Twin Gables and Carr Cabinet Company. She also was a seasonal worker for Marvin Mann, Del Monte and Jules Simon. Linda was a member of Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed garage sales, auctions and loved her children and grandchildren.
Visitation and Services
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Service will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the 100 Wing of Mulberry Health & Retirement Community.

Husband: James F. Schimmel of Frankfort, 3 Daughters: Sherry D. (Shane L.) Vanlandingham of Lebanon, Cordilia J. ‘Cordy’ Boyer of Frankfort, Carolyn S. Shepherd of Mulberry, Son: James F. Schimmel Jr. of Frankfort, Sister: Betty Reger of Michigantown, 10 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Freedela Reed, great grandson, Wyatt Alan Fausett, 2 brothers, Raymond & James T. Bartley and son-in-law, Garry Boyer.
Jennie, I am so sorry to hear this. As I read this, I remember all the good times we had at your grandmas. Especially riding our bikes out to their house from yours. And the big hill!! Miss those days. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Love ya!
