Lee Roy McIntosh

Lee Roy McIntosh 80, of rural Frankfort, died February 26, 2012 at Halifax Hospital , Daytona Beach, FL. Born April 28, 1931 in Frankfort, IN to Ross Lee & Hilda Maria (Nehls) McIntosh. He married Susan E. Peters on March 19, 1950 in Mulberry, IN and she survives. Mr. McIntosh was a graduate of Frankfort High School and the I.U. Police Academy in Bloomington, IN. He was with the Frankfort Police Department for 21 years and a Juvenile Officer for 17 years. He also worked for the N & S Railway as an electrician for 37 years, retiring from both in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church his memberships include; Clinton Masonic Lodge #54, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Murat Temple , Fraternal Order of Police and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Mr. McIntosh was 1980 Clinton County Officer of the Year.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3rd at the funeral home. Chuck Williams will officiate the service. Entombment will be in Green Lawn Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Gibson (David) of Daytona Beach , FL 3 Grand Daughters: Deanna Wallace (Grady) of Pomona Park , FL, Misty Cooper (Scott) of Leicester , UK and Amber Burger (Henry) of Orange Park , FL 9 Great Grandchildren: Samantha & Andrea Hale & Taylor Burger, Ashleigh, Christian & Tyler Cooper and Austin, Alyssa & Alexis Wallace 1 Brother: Carl McIntosh of Frankfort 1 Sister: Wilhelmina Unroe of Frankfort

He was preceded in death by brothers, John W. & Donald McIntosh and sisters, Mildred Douglass, Mary Brandenburg and Grace Brandenburg.

    Dear Sue: My family were all sorry to hear about Lee Roy passing away. You two were such a great couple, our kids Bert, Kaye & Barbara Lee all respected & thought so much of him, Jim & I both felt the same way. I knew Lee Roy way back in grade school & always considered him a good friend mine. then you came along & we felt that way about too.
    My thoughts & prayers are with you & your family. Sometimes words just aren’t enough.
    I will not be able to come by Friday night as I have to be at work. So may God bless all of you.

    Sue and family, I am sorry to hear of your loss of Lee Roy. I enjoyed working with him as an officer for several years. Sorry I cannot be there, as we are away for the winter. Our prayers are with you.

    So sorry for your loss. My prayers and thoughts to the family. My parents Jim & Mary Jane Weaver were good friends. My father also worked on the railrosd with Leroy for many years. I remember LeRoy as a kind hearted helpful man always with a smile and ready to help anyone like my father whenever he could. I know he will be sadly missed.

    Bob and I are so sorry to hear about the death of Mac. Sue, if you remember, I worked with him when I worked as a child welfare worker at the Clinton Co. DHS. He was one of a kind. He taught me so much and was so tolerant when he worked with me as well as our clients. Mac was a very good man who I am glad I could call a friend! Our condolences are with you and your family.

    I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I will truly miss his warm greeting and friendliness he would always display when I saw him at the hospital. He always displayed an encouraging and uplfting spirit. My God bless all of the family during your time of loss.
