Junior New 81, Frankfort, IN, died at 4:14 a.m. July 7, 2013 at St. Vincent Frankfort Hospital. Born April 25, 1932 in McCreary County, KY to Frank & Mattie New. Mr. New was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from January 22, 1953 to January 7, 1955 during the Korean War. He worked at Hollanders Company in Cincinnati, OH from 1962 until he retired in 1979. He moved to Frankfort in 2000. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. A jokester and an all-around good spirit, Junior liked to walk and going to see horses. He enjoyed his family, especially his granddaughters.

Visitation and Services

A Memorial Service will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Victory Chapel Church, 196 S. West St., Frankfort. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at the church.

Survived by:

Son, Frank (Wife Lisa Winter) New of Frankfort, 4 Grandchildren, Nichole Winter, Khole New, Zachary New and Mya New.

Preceded by:

A sister, Lonnie New.

    Our hearts go out to you Reekus, Lisa and children. Junior was amazing person with a heart of gold, Ernie’s favorite uncle. He will be missed.

    Sadly missed Great father, amazing grandfather, loved the hot weather taking walks spending time with his family loved joking around and having a beer……. Heart of gold he will always be in our hearts and prayers…….

    My heart goes out to the family Rek, Lisa, Nicole and Khole. I didn’t know him, but he raised a great boy and Lisa and the girls will be grieving for some time. He had to of been an amazing man to be loved by so many. They are all in my prayer’s.

    Junior will be missed, but the memories will still be there. Memories of laughter and straight talking are the gold that we can always mine from knowing and loving the ‘old man’. May the Lord strengthen the family, especially Frank and Lisa that have benefited the most from his presence in their home for the last decade. Bless his soul and may we see him again in that day.

    Its been 10days and we waiting for you to be setting on the couch or outside in the sun ready to tell us a joke… there are no words for why the good Lord took such a incredible man, father, grandfather and friend….. you are sadly missed and we be together again one day… keep watching over us…..love you dad, will always remember the great times we all had….

    i had a dream about you last night. I hugged you and it seemed like it was for real some, people might think its a dream but I really felt him there with me while I was sleeping and I miss you so much Junior. You are an awesome grandpa and I wouldn’t trade you for the world. I love you so much, I hope that you are at peace now and since I had that dream I can tell that you were trying to tell me that you were at peace and everything was going to be ok. your loving granddaughter Nicole Winter
