Julia May Singleton-Fairfield, 80, formerly of Michigantown, died January 29, 2023 at I.U. Health Frankfort Hospital.  She was born June 28, 1942 in Forest, Ind. to the late Orville A. & Oval G. (Kirkendall) Singleton.  She married Odie Fairfield on December 30, 1993 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2019.

Julia was a 1960 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  She was a nurse’s aid for 18 years, worked as housekeeper for Clinton County Hospital and babysat.  Julia enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 2nd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation

Survived by:

2 Sons: Randy (Mary) Clark of Frankfort, Troy (Wendi) Clark of Frankfort, Brother: Terry (Angie) Singleton of Alabama, Sister: Jane Lamb of Michigantown, 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

Preceded by:

Her daughter, Melissa Clark, 2 sisters, Gloria Laughner Ulm and Peggy Singleton and brother-in-law, Raymond Lamb.

    Julia was so GREAT to me as a young, shy 18 year old when I worked at Clinton County Hospital. She was kind and loving and I have never forgotten how she made me feel. My condolences to all of you. Angie Robinson

    Sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. I really enjoyed helping you all out when you needed someone to watch her. She was great company and there was never a dull moment with her and her stories. Prayers and comfort in the up coming days.

    Sorry to hear about your mothers passing. She was a very caring person. I think she knew most of Clinton County by working at the hospital. She always seem to smile no matter what was going on in her life. Sending prayers to all of your family. Love to all.

    I had so much fun as a child growing up with this wonderful family. So many great memories with all of them. Julia was a sweet person and a dear friend. I loved her so.
