Judith A. (Wheeler) Stockberger

Judith A. (Wheeler) Stockberger, 79, of Frankfort, died July 15, 2019 at I.U. Health Arnett, Lafayette, Ind.  She was born October 20, 1939 in Lebanon, Ind. to Charles E. & Isabella Beatrice (Immel) Wheeler.  She married Larry D. Stockberger on August 26, 1962 in Lebanon, Ind. and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2017.

Judy was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School and graduated Beauty College in Indianapolis. She retired from Kmart in Frankfort and also worked at and retired from the Frankfort Public Library in 2005.  Judy enjoyed reading, western movies, birdwatching and raising English Bulldogs with her husband. She is survived by her loyal companion, Sampson, her bulldog.

Visitation and Services

A funeral service celebrating Judy’s life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort with Pastor Pam Ditson-McCall officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society or the Frankfort Public Library.

Daughters: Sherri (Richard) Ward of Frankfort, Tracy (Tom) Daly of Jacksonville, NC, Sister: Mary (Bruce) Stuart, Logansport, Grandchildren: Elesa (David) Donnoe of Mulberry, Jared (Amanda) Ward of Toledo, OH, Jacob (Anna) Ward of Frankfort, Erin (Tyler) Eads of Carmel, Alex Daly of Jacksonville, NC, Great Grandchildren: Hunter Renfrow, Lainey Donnoe, Harper Donnoe, Brooks Ward, Bree Ward, Anderson Ward and Lovie Ward.

Preceded by:

three brothers, Charles Wheeler Jr., James Wheeler and Bill Wheeler and a sister, Ella Jane Cadger.

    Sherri and Tracey. I worked with your mom at Kmart for many years. She always had a smile on her face. We had a good time there. She usually worked in the layaway department. A nightmare always. But she had a smile on her face. Then your Dad would pop in and the jokes would fly. A very cute couple. Enjoy your memories, they will help you.

    I’m so sorry to read this ~ we went to school together from first grade to graduation. We lived not very far from each other on Lafayette Avenue. My condolences to Mary and to Judy’s family. Judy was a lovely person. I will be thinking of you all.
