Judith Ann Dupler 74 Frankfort, died at 6:33 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Mulberry Health & Retirement Community. She was born on November 24, 1941 in Princeton, IN to Ronald Harrison & Helen M. (Leibensperger) Nieman. Judy taught English while living in California. She later owned and operated Needle Nook in Fairhope, Alabama and Keepsakes at Union Station in Indianapolis. She was a 1960 graduate of Frankfort High School, and a 1964 graduate of Ball State Teachers College where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Judy enjoyed knitting and collecting Olympic memorabilia. She traveled to many Olympic Games including games held in Norway, France, Australia, Italy, Spain and Japan.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, no public services will be held.

Daughter: Melinda (Husband-Greg) Dupler-Singer of Lafayette. Son: Derek (Wife-Kathleen) Dupler-Indianapolis. 7 Grandchildren: Katie Dupler, Dylan Dupler, Kaleigh Singer, Drew Dupler, Dalton Dupler, Marin Singer and Rowan Singer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jane E. Nieman
I am so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I was a customer and student of hers when she operated Keepsakes in Carmel. I spent many happy hours there. Just yesterday someone asked me what the first item I knit was and it was a small baby blanket at Judy’s shop. I had heard that she had been ill, but did not have specifics.
Please accept my condolences and one thing that I do know is that Judy felt so blessed to have her grandchildren! She always spoke so lovingly of them and I could see the few time I met them in the shop how much she loved them and them her.

Today I was sad when I read the Indianapolis Star obituary and found your mother’s
name. She was one of the top students when I taught at Lincoln School in Frankfort
from 1951 until 1954. How well I remember what a sweet little girl she was at ten
years of age! I’ve wondered what had happened to her through the years. I knew she
lived in California at one time but was unaware she taught English or had done so
many interesting things in her lifetime.

I’m so sorry to hear of her passing, although someone had told me some time ago that she was in ill health. Please accept my sincere condolences and what ever you do, always remember the good times, and keep smiles in your heart when you remember her. May she rest in peace.
