Joyce J. Rule

Joyce J. Rule 90 of Michigantown, IN, died at 12:20 a.m. July 6, 2012 at Milner Community Health Care Center, Rossville, IN. Born June 24, 1922 in Forest Township, Clinton County, IN to the late Joseph & Bertha (Johnson) Jaynes. She married R. Glenn Rule on May 30, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1989. Mrs. Rule was a 1940 graduate of Forest High School and was a lifelong Clinton County resident. She was a longtime member of the Michigantown United Methodist Church. She owned and operated Joyce’s Beauty Shop in Michigantown, was a homemaker and was secretary to the Principal of Clinton Central High School from 1959-1973. Mrs. Rule was active in the Democratic Party all her life, was past president of Area IV Council on Aging, and active in AARP. She was a board member of the Clinton County Hospital for 16 years and was past president. For several years was a school bus driver for Clinton Central. In 1980, she received the Sagamore of the Wabash. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and especially her family.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday July 8th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton Central Education Foundation or the Michigantown United Methodist Church.

2 Sons: Larry (Judy) Rule of Michigantown and Jan (Jessica) Rule of Monticello 4 Grandchildren, Joe (Jannine) Rule, Carrie (Brad) Pickard, Tara Sprinkle and Erin (LaMar) Miller 4 Great Grandsons and a Great Granddaughter

    On behalf of the Loveless family, I want to extend my sincere condolences to Larry, Jan and the Rule family on the passing of Joyce Rule. I have fond memories of growing up in Michigantown with members of the Rule families. God Bless in your time of sorrow.
