John J. Cotone 92, of rural Frankfort, died at 11:57 p.m. July 25, 2013 at home. Born February 14, 1921 in Rockford, IL to Michael & Amelia (Cotone) Cotone. He married Helen M. Rymek in Chicago and she survives. Mr. Cotone was a high school graduate in Rockford, IL and attended 2 years of college. He moved to Frankfort from Chicago to operate The Bargain Center, which he owned for many years. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force during WWII, he served overseas. John was a member of the Moose Lodge and a 50 year member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time at the Main Street Smoke Shop with his friends & the rest of the guys, including Bruce Gard & Harry Williams.
Visitation and Services
Friends may visit from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Cancer Fund.

The last of 8 members in his family, he is survived by his wife Helen, brothers-in-law, Rick (Elaine) Rymek & Ed (Cecile) Rymek and many loving nieces and nephews.
Helen, I am so sorry to hear about John. He was a good man and had a heart of gold. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Our hearts are with you. We will miss Uncle John! He was such a kind and funny man. I have so many fond memories of him. Especially when the two of you came to visit me at college…and of course every Thanksgiving. I’m sorry we can’t be there with you. We are sending big hugs and lots of love.

We are very saddened to hear of Johns passing while we were away, and can not tell you how much he meant to us. We will be praying for you for comfort that only God can give and ask that you please call us if you need anything. We would love to stop by for a visit when you are up for guests. We were blessed to have know him.
