Jesse L. Vail

Jesse L. Vail, 84, formerly of Frankfort, died April 12, 2017 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida, where he had lived for the past 21 years.  Born September 10, 1932 in Frankfort, Indiana, to the late John H. Vail Sr. and Estle May (Shelley) Vail.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lillie P. (Pyatt) Vail.

Mr. Vail attended Frankfort High School.   He had worked for the Parks Department and the Sewer Maintenance Department for the City of Frankfort, retiring on September 1, 1995 with over 30 years of service.  A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Eagles Lodge and was a member of the American Legion.   Mr. Vail was of the Christian Faith.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

Survived by:

Wife: Lillie Vail of Port Charlotte, Florida, Daughter: Teresa (Keith) Bunch of Arcadia, Florida, Sister: Charlotte Lear of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren.

    Thanks for all the fond memories! We always had a great time fishing, talking, visiting and laughing about what dog treats taste like! Thanks for being such a great brother-in-law! Love John and Connie

    Lillie and Teresa I’m so sorry for your lose and sorry that John Jr. and I won’t make it to see you. We think about you a lot. Just because I’m not family any more I still love you as if we are still family .

    Lillie, so sorry to hear the passing of Jesse. Sorry I did not get to attend his service I have of alot of great memories and respected and loved working with Jess. My prayers are with you and all the family.
