Nelson and family. So sorry to hear about Jeri Jo, she always had a special place in our hearts because she was so nice to Heather. I remember a long time ago Jeri Jo had a yellow Camero maybe 1969 and she was at band practice at the old Stott field (by Riley school). I was driving by and I saw a parking space that I had past and started to back up and I backed up in to the Camero. Jeri Jo had a cow, because she wasn’t suppose to be driving that car while he dad was out of town. This was on a Thursday night, he dad was coming home on Monday, I dented the left rear fender in. We got it to the body shop and had it fixed and painted before he got home!!! To this day I wonder if she ever told him? So sorry to hear of her passing. Steve and Julie Pearcy

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. What a wonderful teacher! My kids have been out of school for a few years now, but she always stopped me and asked about them. I will never forget the first year at Suncrest, she had my youngest, Brett and she lost one of her diamond earrings– the cleaning people came in during spring break and she just knew if they hadn’t found it, it would never be found. Then my son was sitting in his seat one day and say something sparkle– it was her earring— she was so excited!!! My son was a big IU fan and had two shirts he wore all the time, just so she will give him a hard time– one said Little Bobbie Knight the other said Little Damon Bailey. So as a reward– as difficult as it was for her– she bought him a little IU magnet and gave to him. It is still on our refrigerator— every time I see it, I can hear her telling me the story !! She will be greatly missed— any child who had her as a teacher was a very lucky child!!!

I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Jeri Jo’s passing. I graduated with her and she always had a smile on her face. The last time I talked to her was when Mrs. Buck was taking Chemo~my husband was taking Chemo at the same time. I also live behind Mrs. Buck’s house on S. Prairie and I would see Jeri Jo drive by in the summer in her convertible. She is going to be missed by many!!
