Dear Aunt Jane,
I will miss you and I will never forget how pleased you were when I graduated from our family’s school…Purdue. I sent the patriotic flowers because I knew how proud you were of your father, brother, and great nephew who all served proudly in the military.
Love, Debbie

Facebook Twitter GoogleMy Aunt Jane was a kind, smart, witty, but humble person, an unusual combination of virtues. Although her memory was failing, she reminded in great spirits until the end. She always liked to say, “I’ve got no complaints – for example, about the soggy green beans – and what good would it do anyway?”

Facebook Twitter GoogleAunt Jane was a sweet and conscientious person. She gave back to her community and always found a reason to laugh. We bonded over our mutual military connection and our love of family history. I am grateful to her for being so welcoming to my mother and to me.
With sorrow and love,
Alex (Jane’s great-nephew)

Facebook Twitter GoogleI am Roger’s niece (and Jane’s) and I have many happy memories of being together with both of them through the years! Jane was such a positive and giving person, full of fun and a lovely laugh! She always had time and care for me and my family. Especially when my mother died. She took my 12 year old daughter, who was very close to my mom, under her wing and sent her letters and little gifts of support and comfort and memories. Not just at first, but through the years. It was such a comfort to my daughter, and I will always be so grateful to Jane for that! She and Roger were always there for family gatherings and they showed how important and precious family was to them. It was such a gift to us all! I am truly grateful and blessed to have had Jane in my life, a true light in this world.
