James Leon Reed

James Leon Reed, 67, of Frankfort, died October 19, 2021 in his home.  He was born on April 8, 1954 in Frankfort to the late James Edward and Julia (Nall) Reed.  He married Vickie Young on December 1, 1973 in Kirklin and she preceded him in death on November 5, 2006.

James was a lifelong Clinton County resident and 1973 graduate of Frankfort Senior High.  He was a proud veteran that served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1977 stationed at Fort Knox and in Germany.  James attended Victory Chapel.  He was a member of the Frankfort High School ROTC Rifle Team and Chess Club.  He was a history buff, enjoyed the Frankfort Community Public Library, and loved animals.

 

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Victory Chapel Church, 196 Lewis Smith Rd., Frankfort.  Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. November 5th at the church.  Burial will follow in Kilmore Cemetery.   Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 455, Frankfort, IN  46041 and Frankfort Community Public Library, 208 W. Clinton St., Frankfort, IN  46041. Goodwin Funeral Home 200 S. Main St., Frankfort is assisting the family with arrangements.

Surviving are his Daughter: Sandra (Ryan) Groves of Granger; Grandchildren: Delaney Groves and Evan Groves, both of Granger; Sisters: Jeanna Sheets of Rossville and Beth (Rick) Gunn of Oklahoma; Brother: Tim (Tina) Reed of Lafayette; and Step-Mother: Darla Reed of Monticello.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Pete Sheets, and grandmother, Violet Altic.

    I’m so sorry for all of your loss. Jim was a unique person, we always had a lot to talk about. We would watch Twilight Zone and reruns Mash together. You will be sadly missed my friend RIP.
