James L. “Jim” Klemm, 78, of Frankfort, died at 6:25 p.m. January 29, 2018 at Wesley Manor. He was born October 30, 1939 in South Bend to Paul Otto & Margaret Grace (Taylor) Klemm. His first marriage was to Barbara Whitten. He then married Martha Ritchie on August 1, 1981 in Cincinnati, Ohio and she survives.
Jim was a 1957 graduate of Washington Clay High School in South Bend, Ind., a 1961 graduate of University of Chicago, with a degree in mathematics and a 1965 graduate of Purdue University receiving his Master’s degree in mathematics and a Doctorate in mechanics from Michigan State. He taught engineering and mathematics at the University of Cincinnati for 7 years and worked for NCR Corp. for 16 years. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette, Ind. and the American Association for Advancement of Science. Jim enjoyed gardening, reading, bible study and genealogy.
Visitation and Services
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Wesley Manor Chapel with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service at the chapel. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Fund at Wesley Manor or Parkinson’s Foundation.

Wife: Martha Klemm of Frankfort, Ind., Daughter: Sarah (Michael) Burkett of Marion, Ind., Son: Paul Klemm of Rockport, Texas, 2 Grandchildren: Rachel Klemm and Rosemary Burkett and 2 Great Grandchildren: Noah and Mardell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Klemm.
