As I watch three otters play in our river in Boulder Junction I realize I can’t text my friend Jack to tell him about it. I have shared many moments like this with him by text in recent years from Up North and he usually responded “Living the dream!” I just told Teresa that I will be sad when I catch my first muskie that I won’t be able to tell him. She smiled and said, oh he will know. I loved your dad and I will truly miss him.

Grieving for us all as we lament Jack’s passing, BUT celebrating his homecoming with Jesus! What a magnificent hope we have in Christ! (And Jack is certainly basking in the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” )

Very sorry to hear about the passing of my cousin Jack Scheid. What a wonderful man he was! He certainly lived a long and active life. Lots of great memories of him, Connie and their children! Last time I saw him, he pointed out that we were the 2 oldest living cousins. I am now the oldest cousin in the family. Some “very big shoes to fill”!

To his wonderful & loving kids, thanks so much for letting me be a part of Jack’s life, Love CoCo

Jack was such a great man, he was always so pleasant and always interested in what others were doing. Not many people care enough to stop and have conversations but Jack did. Anytime we came back from the mission field Jack would have questions about what he had read or seen in a newsletter or social media; he was one of our prayer warriors. Jack always brought a smile to our face because he was always smiling, truly a happy soul who loves Jesus and his neighbor (even around the world) as himself. His reception in Heaven was a grand affair!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Jack on a few occasions at Kevin and Diana’s home at Wawasee. He was a true gentlemen and a pleasure to be around. As a young man and a friend of his grandson, it is hard to fathom what he has seen in his life, good and bad. I consider myself lucky to have been able to share good conversation and company with a man who means so much to so many. My personal belief is that you’re never gone when you pass, you just stay with us in a different way. My love to the Family. Cheers, Jack.
