Herbert C. “Sonny” Sheets Jr., 80, of rural Frankfort, Ind., died January 27, 2023 surrounded by his family.  He was born September 12, 1942 in Frankfort, Ind. to Herbert C. Sheets Sr. & Dorothy L. (Dilworth) Sheets.

Sonny was a 1960 graduate of Frankfort High School.  He worked for Clinton County Highway Department for 42 years.  He was in the Army Reserve from 1963-1969.  Sonny attended the Community Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion.  Sonny enjoyed spending time at his cabin “Timbuktu” near Crystal River in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Brother: Harry A. Sheets of Frankfort, 3 Sisters: Linda Cole of Frankfort, Mary (Charlie) Jacoby of Frankfort, Dorothy (Dick) McCarty of Michigantown, Jasmine Clendenning who was like a granddaughter as well as 2 nieces, Tara L. (Eric) Woods and Crystal (Terry) Williams and 2 nephews, Stacey (Melissa) Alter and Travis (Gina) Sheets, great nieces and nephews, Devon Stockberger, Kyler Crow, Mallory Woods, Maddison Biesecker, Kelsey Williams, Cory Williams, and Caden Alter.
