Helen P. Best 56, of Frankfort, IN, died at 1:32 a.m. September 28, 2015 at I.U. Health Arnett, Lafayette, IN.  Born January 9, 1959 in Tipton, IN to the late Ozzie & Jennie (Tuttle) Lee.  Helen was raised in Atlanta, Indiana before moving to Frankfort in 1976. She attended Hamilton Heights School. Helen was a cashier at  Good to Go, formerly Akards, for 13 years.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2nd at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Humane Society.

3 Sons: Travis Best of Lafayette, Trinity (Monica) Best of Kennesaw, GA, Tyler Best of Lafayette, 4 Brothers: Ron (Susan) Lee of Frankfort, Roy (Dot) Lee of Hillisburg, Bobby (Collette) Lee of Atlanta, Richard (Kathy) Lee of Elwood and Granddaughter: McCartney Best of Kennesaw, GA.

Preceded by:

by 2 sisters and a brother.

    To Helen’s family,
    I was so sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. I only knew her through talking to her at the drive through at “Good To Go.” Such a pleasant women; always a smile on her face. I noticed she hadn’t been there for the past few weeks and she was on my mind often. May the Lord give you comfort in the days to come.

    So sorry for your family’s loss, Helen was a good friend that I have known for 30+ years. She always had a smile and her wonderful laugh mad me smile with her. May she rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers are with you three boys and family.

    I was very saddened to hear of Helen’s passing. She had such a wonderful spirit and an infectious smile..I worked with her at Akard’s. And my brother and I attended school with Travis as well. From our family to yours…truly sorry for your loss.

    Boys-I’m so sorry for your loss. Helen has been my friend for over 36 years, and I’ll miss her deeply. The world has lost such a wonderful lady. My children (Michael, Joshua, Amanda & my grandchildren), will miss her deeply. We are so sorry for your loss.

    My sympathy and condolences to Helen’s family. I will keep my memories of Helen close to my heart. I have only known her for a few short years, but she was definitely one of the nicest people I have ever met … even before working with her, she was always pleasant, and more importantly, she was real. I am a better person just by having known her. She will be missed. Again, my condolences to her family.

    Helen was a wonderful person to work with and be friends with. I loved her smile and personality. She touched my families heart in many ways. She was there when my father was very ill and passed. Miss you much Helen.

    I was so saddened to hear of you passing. You were a great lady and an awesome coworker. I had the pleasure of working with you at Akards for a couple of years. You were patient, kind and just a pleasure to be around. My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends. Rest in peace Helen. Our Lord has another angel.

    I first met Helen when I was a younger..30+ years and she has always had that intoxicating smile,made you smile no matter how you were feeling..She is going to be missed by many!!! My deepest sympathy to her boys and her family..May God guide you on the road to recovery!!! You all are in my prayers..Now Helen you go fly high with angels !!!!!

    I can not think back on my childhood without thinking of Helen. I was friends with her son Tyler, and she treated me and the rest of her boy’s friends as if they were her own. Our loss is heavens gain. She will be missed.

    I am so sorry about your loss. I thought a lot about your mother. She was a great lady. She and I would sit together at the old Armory and watch our children while our husbands played basketball like they thought they were young athletes. We use to have lots of laughs and giggles.
