Gerald E. “Poppie” Boyer, 91, of Frankfort, Ind., died September 1, 2020 at the home of his daughter. He was born May 13, 1929 in Clinton County to Ora Earl & Evia (Wood) Boyer. He married Betty M. Tinkle on February 2, 1955 and she preceded him in death on January 25, 2005.
Poppie attended Jackson Township School and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. He had worked at Henry M. Carr for 28 years and was plant manager there for 9 years. He had also worked at Schultz IGA for 11 years. He was a member of the Faith Family Ministry, and a life member and former Governor of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #7. He loved sports, was an avid IU, Colts, and Pacers fan, enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and loved spending time with his family.

Visitation and Services
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit Noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Mark Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Out of respect for the health, safety, and comfort of all in attendance, guests will be expected to adhere to current CDC guidelines regarding appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Surviving family includes his 2 Daughters: Joy D. Lanum of Frankfort and Marilyn K. (William) Toney of South Bend; Son: R. Ronald (Sharon) McClughen of Tennessee; Sister: Betty Watkins of Frankfort; 11 Grandchildren; and 16 Great Grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Phyllis Flood & Barbara Boyer, 2 brothers, William & Robert Boyer, granddaughter, Tonya Toney and infant granddaughter, Kelli Brianne Lanum.
