Gary W. Beard, 70, of Frankfort, died October 19, 2019 at home, unexpectedly.  He was born August 19, 1949 in Frankfort, Ind. to the late Kenneth D. & Nadine (Edmonds) Beard.  He married Patti L. Palmore on September 23, 1978 in Frankfort and she survives.

Gary was a 1968 graduate of Frankfort High School and attended Ball State University.  He was a lifelong Frankfort resident.  He was employed with Hinshaw Roofing for 30 years and retired from there.  He was recently attending the Jefferson United Methodist Church.  Gary enjoyed music, was a bass player for The Medicine Man Band and had played in various bands since he was 15.

Visitation and Services

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Victory Chapel, 196 Lewis Smith Road, Frankfort. No visitation is planned.  Memorial donations may made to Victory Chapel.  Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. wife, Patti L. Beard of Frankfort, daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Kennedy of Kokomo, son,  Patrick Rhiley Beard of Frankfort, sister, Linda (Donald) Nace of Mesa, AZ, brother:,  Greg (Teri) Beard of Frisco, TX and grandson,  Myles Kennedy.

    When my mom died, I loved coming to her obit page in the days that followed. So many people left such kind words, thoughts and prayers. I hope you and your family find this comforting as well. Gary Beard! Over the 40 years that I knew him he was a one or a kind. He was 10 years older than me and I thought he was a cool cat. Rocking the bass and singing at the top of his lungs.     Sheree and I always enjoyed spending some time with Gary. I met Gary in grade school and we struck up a friendship that endured the ages. Though we did not see each other often, when we got together we always picked up right where we left off. We will miss his congeniality and infectious smile. RIP our friend.
