I grew up with Fred’s three sons, just a block away, and Fred and Sally are fixtures in my memory of childhood. I can’t imagine my boyhood without them, and now they’re both gone. I’ll always remember Fred’s warm and welcoming smile and his love of the get-togethers that several families would have at the lakes in Monticello. George and Tom, I’m sorry I couldn’t be at the funeral Saturday to say goodbye to your dad. I have many fond memories of him. I’m glad Ann was there to represent our family. — Ted Hartzell

Just read in Frankfort paper, the horse drawn tribute. What a great tribute to one of The Greatest Generation, as Tom Brokaw wrote. I did not know this person, but feel respect is due.
