Francis “Frannie” E. Brock 90 of Frankfort, IN, died at 8:07 p.m. November 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Central, Lafayette, IN. Born February 9, 1923, in Frankfort, to the late Ross & Ona (Buntin) Brock. Mr. Brock was a graduate of Jackson Township High School. He was drafted in January of 1943 to the U.S. Army, and served in the 151st Infantry Company D during WWII in the Philippines. Mr. Brock was awarded 4 bronze medals, 1 with an oak leaf before coming home from the war in November 1945. He met Camilla Elser in 1946 while working at the Aluminum Plant in Lafayette and they married June 4, 1949. A farmer for over 40 years, he also drove a school bus for Jackson Township School, raised livestock and was in the trucking business, retiring in 1984. Mr. Brock served on the North Montgomery School Board from April 1, 1966 until June 30, 1978, and served as president when the school was built, was a life member of the Colfax American Legion, serving as finance officer for 40 years and was past commander, life member of the Frankfort VFW, serving as past commander, was a life member and past Chef De Gare of the 40/8, where he served as finance officer for 35 years and the Nurses Training Committee for 30 years, life member of the Eagles and Moose Lodges, past member of the Elks and was a member of the ASC Board for 5 years. He enjoyed golf and shooting pool.
Visitation and Services
Services will 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, November 22nd from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
