Eric R. Austin, 47, of Frankfort, died unexpectedly on October 4, 2019.  He was born March 11, 1972 in Frankfort to Donald R. and Rose A. (McIntosh) Austin.

Eric was a 1990 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School and attended Vincennes University.  He worked for 9 years for Donaldson’s Co. and had been a supervisor at Custom Building Products for the past 15 years.  Growing up, he attended Trinity United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed golfing, attending Pearl Jam concerts and loved his family.

Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort is honored to assist the Austin family.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eric’s honor to the Clinton County Humane Society, P.O. Box 455, Frankfort.

Visitation and Services

Friends may visit 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1951 Wilshire Drive, Frankfort.  Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday following the visitation at the church.  Pastor Phil Lake will officiate.

Survivors include his Mother: Rose A. Austin of Frankfort; Aunt: Joan McIntosh of Frankfort; along with several Cousins.  He is also survived by his best friend and companion: Cooper his dog.

He was preceded in death by his father.

    My prayer is that God would lift up Eric’s family during this time. I worked with Eric at Custom Building Products and enjoyed chatting with him. Very nice person and I am saddened by his passing. My condolences to you all.

    We’re so incredibly sorry for this tremendous loss. We loved Eric, his easygoing personality and good spirited banter. We have so many fond memories visiting your house, stealing his Oreos and playing his video game console. We will remember these memories along with the 4th of July and Thanksgiving. May God’s peace and blessings be with you until the end of time.

    I am so sorry for the loss of Eric. I met Eric through his mom Rose, and he was always so nice, and easy to talk with. He loved his cats, and especially his best buddy, his dog Cooper. My deepest condolences to Rose, and Eric’s family.

    I am so sorry to just learn of Eric’s passing. I wish I would have known earlier, but it is my fault for not keeping in touch with you. The video memorial was beautiful. I cannot imagine the hole that is in your heart, but know that I love you and am praying for you. I miss you very much and think of you often.
