Eleanor Moore Costlow Reed

Eleanor was born April 12, 1917 in Lebanon, Indiana to Virgil W. and Harriet (Freeland) Moore.  She married Neal Costlow in 1936 and he died in 1969.  She married Albert Reed in 1971 and he died in 1999. Mrs. Reed was a 1934 graduate of Kirklin High School and lived in Kirklin from 1923-1983.  A homemaker, she was also bookkeeper for Moore-Costlow, Inc. for 20 years.  She was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church where she was a past Elder and she was active in Westminster Circle.  She was also Past Matron of Kirklin Chapter O.E.S. #534. She was loved by her family and held in high esteem for the wonderful example she set as she lived out her long life. She loved the Lord and that love was demonstrated in how she loved her family.

Visitation and Services

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19th at the Goodwin Funeral Home. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort. Memorial donations may be made to the Wesley Manor Good Samaritan Fund or the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Survived by:

Surviving are four sons: Ronald Costlow (Sharon), Indianapolis; Judson Costlow (Lisa), Centerville; Alan Costlow, Indianapolis and Daniel Costlow (Diane), Novi, Michigan. In addition, a stepdaughter, Jill Schaefer (Charles), Indianapolis and a stepson, Evan (Karen), Jacksonville, Florida. She had 10 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother, James Moore, and two sisters, Miriam Moore and Jean Moore Soard.

    Dan, I was sorry to hear about your mothers passing. She sounded like an incredible lady. What a blessing to have her for 95 years! There is no doubt she is at peace and in heaven with her family and friends that have gone before her. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
