Edward “Jay” Pierce, 60, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away on September 26, 2022 at I.U. Health University Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born July 4, 1962 in New Castle, Ind. to William Edward & Mary Ellen (Glidewell) Pierce. He married Lisa Douglas on June 30, 2000 and she survives.
Jay was a 1980 graduate of New Castle High School. He had lived in Frankfort the majority of his life. He had worked 16 years as Sergeant Lieutenant with the Indiana Department of Corrections at CIC in Pendleton. In 2000, he began working as a Lieutenant with the Indiana University Health Dept. of Public Safety, working there for 22 years. Jay was a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge and a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University. Jay enjoyed watching holiday/comedy movies with his daughters, watching the Andy Griffith Show and loved country music. During his daughter’s tennis careers, he was an avid supporter.
Visitation and Services
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday September 30, 2022 at Souls’ Harbor Church, 357 Alhambra Ave., Frankfort, Ind. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2022 at Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Abby Pierce Scholarship Fund, c/o Frankfort Education Foundation, 2400 E. Wabash St., Frankfort, IN 46041, envelopes will be available.

Wife: Lisa Pierce of Frankfort, 3 Daughters: Libby Pierce of Frankfort, Rebecca (Charlie) Tow of Portland, Ind., Amanda (Evan) Eaks of Sulphur Springs, Ind., Step-Mother: Shirley Pierce of New Castle, Ind., 2 Sisters: Mary (Nathan) Brewington, Patty (Jeff) Melton both of New Castle, Brother: Charles (Annette) Pierce of Dunreith, Ind., Mothers-in-Law: Jacquelyn (Patrick McTaggart) Douglas, Christy Douglas, Sister-in-Law: Allison (Greg) Conrad, 4 Grandchildren, 9 Nieces & Nephews as well as extended family and friends also survive.

his parents, daughter, Abigail Suzanne Pierce, father-in-law, Michael Douglas, and grandmother-in-law, Carol Huffer.
Rest in peace my sweet brother. No more worries, stress or anxiety. I love you very much. You were a terrific brother, father and grandfather.
