Facebook Twitter GoogleI started my optical career with Sam in the 80’s. He was a great boss and mentor and constantly told me I had a natural ability to make adjustment’s and repairs. I went on to become an ABOC Optician and
Paraoptometric professional. As the years went on and I worked for other Dr.’s, every time we ran into each other he would still compliment me on my optical skills. Sam was a great influence in my life.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI’m so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing. I’ve lost contact with most of the family at this point, having lived out of state for so long, but I still care about you all.

Facebook Twitter GoogleDonna,
I was sorry to read of Sam’s passing. I thought back to the hours we all spent together growing up. Whether it was building a fort, playing kickball, holding a talent show, putting on a Fourth of July neighborhood parade, playing hide-and-seek or any of the other childhood activities we did, we had a good time. I know you have many other fond memories, which I hope are of comfort to you and the rest of the family. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Facebook Twitter GoogleSam was such a great volunteer in the 1980’s and 90’s. Always made it more fun doing Jaycees and Kiwanis projects when Sammy was there, and he was always there. And then their was IU basketball fandom. Sammy was a charter member of our IUBCPA (IU basketball couch potato association). Our group always met at a common location to view the games on TV. The host provided food, while members were responsible for their own beverage. Excused absences were OK only if you had tickets to attend the game. RIP Sam, memories of you will always make me smile or laugh out loud.

Facebook Twitter GoogleSorry to learn of Sam’s death at too young of an age. We were great pals when we both returned to Frankfort following college. We played a lot of golf together in the late 70’s and 80’s, as well as tennis. We both skied and made trips to northern Michigan, Vail, Steamboat Springs, and Aspen Colorado. We also went to Innsbruck, Austria in 1982. And we spent many years in the Frankfort Jaycees together. Sam loved the Haunted House project and would spend countless hours beginning in September building out the rooms in the upstairs of the old Ross Building. He ran a great optometry practice and was very well respected. He was also a very caring son and looked after his mother in her later years.
R.I.P. my friend.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI just found out about Sam’s passing today (November 20th) and was shocked to hear it. Sam was my fraternity brother at IU and also my best man at my wedding. We did a lot of skiing together in Colorado and Austria. He was a great friend and will be missed. My family moved to Montrose Colorado this July and had hoped to invite him to see the national park here.
