Dorothy K. Large 92, of Frankfort, Indiana, died at 6:30 p.m. November 5, 2009 at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community. Born September 7, 1917 in Gilford, IL to Gardner & Effie (Jones) Darter. She married John Lewis Large on July 27, 1934 and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1984. Mrs. Large was a homemaker. She was a former member of Navy Mother’s Club and Eagle’s Lodge.

Visitation and Services

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday November 11, 2009 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Survived by:

2 Daughters: Patricia Mae Coleman of Frankfort and Karla (Ralph) Sizemore of Frankfort 2 Sons: Vernon G. (Charlotte) Large of North Vernon and Johnny R. (Darla) Large of Frankfort Daughter-in-Law: Naomi Large of Frankfort 19 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren and 39 Great Great Grandchildren

    To the Large family,
    As time passes, you will still have the memories of your family member to help keep her spirit alive. She was a very good friend to my mother Virginia Barker Crabtree,whom passed 4 yrs ago,and John and brother Joe were as close as anyone could be, so I feel as though part of family. I always called her Billie and just found out from John why… so there is a good memory. Also all the times I had to track down those 2 boys for her and mom.. the little devils ha ha. Billie was a very sweet and kind hearted person and will be missed and remembered by many. She is in a better place now and with other family members and friends. The Almighty will take good care of all of them. So we should keep all memories alive and live our lives as they would want that for all of us.. God bless you all…… Ginger
