Dorothy Edna Brammell Hodgen 95 of Frankfort, IN, died at 8:35 a.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2011 at Wesley Manor. Born February 3, 1916 in Boyleston, IN to the late Milroy ‘Roy’ & Maida June (Huffer) Brammell. Her marriage was to Rushton A. Hodgen on January 13, 1940 in Lebanon, IN. Mrs. Hodgen attended Frankfort Schools and was a lifelong Frankfort resident. A seamstress, she worked for Jules Simon for 44 years. She is a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Among her many interests were, flowers, gardening, cats, dogs, sewing and she enjoyed traveling. Prior to Wesley Manor, Dorothy was able to stay in her home due to the loving care of her sister, Janet, for over three years.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, IN 46041. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Whiteman Cemetery, Michigantown, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wesley Manor Memory Care Unit “G” Wing, 1555 N. Main St., Frankfort, IN 46041.

1 Daughter: Georganna Hodgen Beatty of Indianapolis, IN 2 Sisters: Betty Graham of Pittsboro, IN and Janet (Bill) Culross of Frankfort, IN 4 Grandchildren: Gregory Hill of Austin, TX, David Hill of Frankfort, Shannon Norris of Georgia and Jack J. Martin of Indianapolis 5 Great Grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Rueben, Harold, Donald, Robert and Paul and 2 sisters, Thelma Moon and Ruth Bible.

    I took care of Dorothy for about a month out at Wesley Manor and I enjoyed spending time with her…she was a lovely woman!
