Dennis Lee Joiner Sr., 67, of Frankfort, IN, died at 2:58 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Born September 5, 1944 in Frankfort, IN to the late Sanford & Lillie Irene Joiner. Mr. Joiner was a Clinton Central High School graduate. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Vietnam from 1966-1969. He retired from Chrysler in Kokomo, IN in 1999. He then was associated with his sons business, Central Indiana Power Sweeping. Mr. Joiner was a member of the Frankfort American Legion. He loved to show cars, especially hot rods.

Visitation and Services

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4th from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Frankfort Softball, Inc., envelopes will be available.

Son: Dennis L. (Melanie) Joiner II of Frankfort Daughter: Tiffany Joiner of Camden Sister: Shirley Galvin of Frankfort Brother: Bill (Patty) Joiner of Lafayette 3 Grandchildren, Theadoshia, Taylor and Jacob

Preceded by:

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglass Joiner.

    Shirley and Billy, Aunt Ruby phoned me about Dennis, and of course I was sorry to learn of his death. As you know, I have not seen any of you in many years, but I remember your Kentucky visits.

    So very sorry for your loss. I feel the loss as well. Dennis Joiner Sr. has been a very good friend and neighbor to me for some time. Dennis had a heart made of gold. One of the kindest, most friendly, human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing in my lifetime. I’m glad that he was one of my buddies.

    Denny, Melanie and Family, I am sorry to hear of your loss. I remember the days on Freeman Street when he just loved to drive around in his hot rods.
