David Lee Scantland, 63, of Frankfort, died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East in Lafayette, Ind. He was born on October 19, 1954 in Frankfort, Ind. to William Scantland and Mae Jean (Rogers) Smith. He was a 1973 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School and worked for Federal Mogul in Frankfort for 35 ½ years. David enjoyed writing science fiction and showing his customized Honda Civic at car shows.
Memorial donations may be made in David’s honor may be made to the Mulberry Health and Rehabilitation Center, 502 West Jackson Street, Mulberry, IN 46058, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
Visitation and Services
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 South Main Street, Frankfort. Friends may visit from 12 Noon until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his Mother: Mae Jean (Rogers) Smith (Husband: Clovis A.) of Frankfort, IN; Father: William Scantland (Wife: Phyllis) of Mishawaka, IN; Son: Alex B. (Wife: Krista) Scantland of Frankfort; Daughters: Wendy Leigh (Husband: Kenneth) Spencer of Indianapolis and Kelly Re’Nee McKibben of Lebanon; 5 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
