David C. “Cary” Fisher, 85, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away October 27, 2024 in his home. He was born on September 7, 1939 in Frankfort to Homer and Mabel (Sites) Fisher. He married Jayne A. Skinner on August 29, 1961 and she preceded him in death on July 2, 2003.
A lifelong Clinton County resident, Cary was a graduate of Frankfort High School and served in the United States Army National Guard. He owned and operated the Foreign Car Center and after he closed his shop in the late 1980’s, he worked for Subaru. He was a past member of the Archery Club and enjoyed target shooting, boating, water skiing, and fishing. He was a huge NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt and had become an avid Fever fan. He was looking forward to the newest Yellowstone season. One of his greatest joys was hanging with the guys.
Memorial donations may be made in Cary’s honor to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital Pediatric Neurology, 8414 Naab Rd. #205, Indianapolis, IN 46260 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I am so saddened by the loss of this great person that I always called Mr. Fisher. We spent a lot of great times together at the Foreign Car Center, cookouts and sitting in his garage talking about old times. He will be dearly missed by not only me but all of his friends. My condolences go out to all his family. May he rest in piece. God Bless you Mr. Fisher.

Facebook Twitter GoogleTo my brother in law, Cary. So happy we spoke just a few days ago. You were concerned about our location in the storm. You sounded so good. I will remember you that way. I thank God for you dear and blessed because you and I stayed in touch over the years since Jayne Ann’s death. May God bless your family and friends gathering to remember you in a few days. You are in my heart always.

Facebook Twitter GoogleSorry to hear about Dave’s passing. I have so many great memories talking with him about VW Beetles at the Foreign Car Center. He was a talented, knowledgeable car enthusiast who cared about his customers. Dave serviced my 1974 Bug, which still runs great today because of the initial repair work he did after I bought it in the early 1980s. Dave was a remarkable person whose genuine spirit connected with everyone around him. May the love and memories you shared bring you comfort as you deal with the loss. Please know that our family is praying for you.

Facebook Twitter GoogleI didn’t really know Cary but my Dad always spoke highly of him. I was hit on my bike when I was 8 years old right in front of his house on Clinton Drive and he saw it happen. He called my Dad to make sure he knew and that I was okay. It was a great neighborhood to grow up in.
