Daniel J. Stevens 75 of Colfax died on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on December 21, 1941 in Frankfort to Harry & Helen (Painter) Stevens. Daniel married Kay F. Mouser on Feb 19, 1961 and she preceded him in death on February 9, 2006. Mr. Stevens was a construction worker and had previously worked for Wilson’s Meat Packing Company in Colfax. He was a member of the Colfax Wesleyan Church and attended Washington Township Schools in Jefferson. Daniel was a lover of animals and enjoyed woodworking, sightseeing, golf cart rides and helping people. He served as a volunteer at the Wesleyan Campground for 14 years.
Visitation and Services
A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Colfax Wesleyan Church. The Goodwin Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements and services.

1 Son: Daniel J. “Joe” Stevens Jr. of Frankfort, 3 Daughters: Tamala Barjas-Boudargham of Colfax, Cynthia (Robert) Jones of Michigantown, Patricia (Earl) Arnold of Frankfort, 3 Sisters: Grace (Royce) Ford of Thorntown, Marilyn (Dick) Eckhart of Buck Creek, Barbara Johnson of Frankfort 3 Brothers: Patrick (Joy) Stevens of Frankfort, Robert (Betty) Stevens of Frankfort, David (Mary Lou) Stevens of Anderson, 14 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia A. Stevens, a Grandson, C.J. Stevens, a sister, Peggy Sherrill and a brother, Norman Stevens.

Danny was a good and kind person, and I am glad that I was fortunate enough to have known him as a friend.
