Daina Lee Rockhold, 72, of Frankfort, passed away on December 21, 2021 at Franciscan Hospital Lafayette East. She was born on May 7, 1949 in Steubenville, Ohio to Arthur and Bertha (Jones) Hess. She married John R. “Rocky” Rockhold on November 20, 1970 and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2021.
Daina was a longtime member of The First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, playing card games of all kinds and talking on the phone. Her home was a warm meal, a shelter for family and friends, and endless hours of conversation for any who needed it. Above all, Daina loved. She loved with an unconditional love that is rarely found. She loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart, soul, strength, and mind, and loved her neighbor as herself. She loved her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren. She loved friends to the point they truly became family. Daina’s true passion was for children. A “babysitter by trade”, Daina cared for more children than can be counted over the years, and “cared for” is an understatement. She did not build buildings or create jobs, more importantly she helped build family and created hope.
